Well, there you are! Dooley here again --- welcoming you this time to my study. Those of you who saw Santa Claus: The Movie will recall that this is my own private suite of rooms, where I keep most of the elves' most important printed works (including the Elf Rule Book), my own personal files --- and, of course, my incredibly giant-sized telescope!
Remember "Season's Greetings"? That's our little celebration that culminates in my tracking the position of the North Star with the ol' scope. When the North Star reaches a certain point, a wondrous beam of light is let into the Great Hall here at North Pole HQ; that light immediately suffuses all us elves with the awesome magic that can only be generated on the Night Before Christmas!
Which brings me to this portion of KringleQuest.com, which we call Santa Update. It's called that because I also use the telescope (and Anya sometimes does, too) to track Santa's Christmas Eve journey as it departs from our homebase at NPH. Now, folks, you have a chance to track Santa Claus' journey as well. Here's how it works:
From now on, every day, Monday through Saturday --- right up to Christmas Eve --- we will post Santa's daily itinerary; then, on Christmas Eve itself, we'll bring you a complete rundown of the full December 24th schedule!
In addition, you can also click here to link to several of Santa's --- and my --- favorite holiday homepages. We have chosen these sites based on content, belief factor, merriness, suitability (for the younger among you [we elves never stop taking children in consideration]), and overall enjoyment. Believe me, it was not easy making the final selections for this part of the page; it is sometimes said that even elves can be very, very picky!
So, I hope you'll enjoy Santa Update --- and remember, it happens daily --- every Monday through Saturday!
First aired on December 2nd, 1998, as part of its Hollywood Reel to Real series, American Movie Classics' Great Christmas Movies, narrated by Shirley Jones, returns to the AMC airwaves again this year. Among the featured segments is an interview with David Huddleston concerning his role as Big Red in Santa Claus: The Movie. David's comments also appear in the companion book to the GCM special, written by the documentary's writer-director, Frank Thompson, and currently available in bookstores and libraries. To find out about airdates and other information regarding AMC's Great Christmas Movies, which is now on the fast track toward becoming an AMC perennial, check out the AMC Studios homepage!
